Often the thing that keeps us from doing what we can do is pure unadulterated inertia. An object at rest tends to stay at rest. The same goes for beginning any new exercise regimen. The first work out is the worst. The first week feels like you're walking through sand. The first step of each daily walk is the most challenging. Momentum is the guide that holds our hand and supports us through each work out, but you only meet her after you begin. She only shows herself when you're in motion.
There must be faith in the process. You must take the first step in faith, knowing that momentum will be there to greet you along each and every path you walk.
"Faith is taking the first step, even when you cannot see the whole staircase." -Martin Luther King Jr.
